I'm a lightsaber freak! This is my second high poly 3d lightsaber. I made a crude sketch of this lightsaber and tried to translate it to 3d as much as possible. I can say I'm happy with the results, especially since I'm relatively new to HDRI lightning. This is a composition made out of various renders I made with this model. Hope you like it!

Nice, looks brilliant... I have plenty of the toy sabers around the house, I want to get some of the nice FX ones... do you have any staff style saber designs?

Very cool design. Love the activation switch, and the multi-layered look is completely original in terms of fansabers.

One thing, though: it looks kind of... phallic. The emitter especially, but with the straight-on angle, the "pommel" also appears so.

No big deal, though. It still rocks.

I haven't done any staff sabers yet. As a matter of fact, I haven't done any 3d work in a long time, maybe I'll make a nice staff saber my next project :)
:iconbroodofevil:
Thank you. I designed the saber with 'curvy' in mind. To be honest I don't like the squared edged design in sabers such as Luke's ROTJ saber or Obi-wan in Ep.III just to name a few. I also wanted it to look like it was comfortable to wield...ergonomic might be a good way to describe it. I guess it came out that way :)
:iconkingyeg:
That would be cool... just notify me when you have it completed... I love staff style... though I think it is just naturally my style... whenever I am messing around with poles and sticks I tend to use it as though it were a staff...

Heh, I hear ya.

Besides, how can you get more ergonomic than that?
